Dsquared2 is an Italian luxury-streetwear fashion house founded in 1996 by Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten. Children of Italian parents, originally from Casalvieri (Frosinone) and emigrated to Canada.
The Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten (real surname Catenacci) have been working in fashion internationally since 1984. They moved to New York in 1983 to attend Parson's School of Design and in 1991 they arrived in Italy where in 1994, after numerous collaborations with some fashion houses, created their first men's collection.
In October of the same year Dean and Dan Caten were named "Men of the Year" by GQ USA for the "Best Breakthrough Design Team" category. They have been named "Headline Talents Costume Designers" for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 XXI Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver; the Caten twins also carried the Olympic torch.
